I want to know if the home remedies really work before I try them. If they do, which one is the most effective?

So I have bv for the first time.. I went to the doctor, had a culture done and it confirmed it.

The doctor prescribed me Metronidazole to take twice a day for a week.. It didn’t work at ALL. The symptoms continued exactly the same as if I wasn’t taking any medication at all… The next week the doctor gave me the gel version and I used and no results… The symptoms continue exactly the same!

I’m going back there on Monday.. Any suggestions of medications I should ask for?

Any home remedies (that actually work)? I heard gentian violet helps, is that true?

Please, help, this is killing me! It’s so gross!
